Kristen Lunceford and her family live in Las Vegas, NV, where, in 2010, God called she and her husband, Ryan, to start Advance Church with five adults and a golden retriever. In ten years of marriage, God has led them to serve three churches in just as many states while raising three young children, including a daughter who they adopted from Ethiopia.

None of this—marrying a pastor, having two children before her second wedding anniversary, moving from the West Coast to Minnesota, supporting her husband through seminary, adopting a baby from Ethiopia, moving back to the desert to start the very first Evangelical Covenant Church in Nevada—was in the meticulous plan Kristen had for herself when she left Arizona State University in 2003 with a journalism degree and promising job as a magazine editor. However, through a thousand small steps of obedience—many made through fear and trembling—she has developed a compelling message of being willing to go first and do what God says that inspires others to live more intentionally with Jesus.

In addition to supporting Ryan and the ministry of Advance Church while raising Landon (9), Evan (8), and Selah (6) to be salt and light, Kristen owns her own photography business and telecommutes part-time as a director of online communications for an academic publishing company.
